AGE 6-14

Conditioning and “Chalk and Talk Football” are programs that were developed to help the participants further enhance the skills that they are taught on the field.  They will be taught how to read and write football playbooks, the definitions and technical skills of specific football positions, etc.  They will also learn how to physically keep “football” fit for the upcoming season.  This program is being conducted by our great Coaches and some former Sharks Players.  Go Sharks!!!

MENTORING

Mentoring is a program that we developed to offer life skills to our participants.  The mentors will show them how to cope with anger, anxiety and social pressures.  A curriculum has been developed by a certified mentor. We are confident that our participants will benefit from this program.  It is vital that all participants perform well on the field, in school and in life.

ACADEMIC TUTORING

Academic Tutoring is a program we developed to offer academic support to our participants.  This program is being conducted by our neighborhood Principals, Teachers and IEP Specialists who have volunteered to assist our participants.  They are all academically certified by the D.O.E.  The participants will be supplied with  the academic tools they are using for school to the program including but not limited to tablets, laptops, text books, etc. so that academic support for their assigned tasks can be provided.

CHEERLEADING

​   AGE 6-14

  • Physical Endurance: Cheerleading is a great cardio workout!

  • Strength Training: Cheerleading is a whole body workout.

  • Flexibility:  Stretching exercises within each class will develop your flexibility, increasing your range of movement.

  • Coordination: Team player and Leadership skills

YOUTH COED BASKETBALL PROGRAM

AGE 6-14

Conditioning and “Chalk and Talk Basketball” are programs that were developed to help the participants further enhance the skills that they are taught on the court.  They will be taught how to read and write basketball playbooks, the definitions and technical skills of specific basketball positions, etc.  They will also learn how to physically keep “basketball” fit for the upcoming season.  

SBYA - Youth Council

AGE 8-18

The South Brooklyn Youth Alliance is a program that came from our mentoring program.   This program allows the participants to voice their concerns on issues concerning their community and lives.  It also gives them a platform to advocate with government representatives and local businesses in an attempt to effectuate change.
